Life, Art and Inspiration
Call it an accident, serendipity or a nudge from your muse but you paid attention and took action because art and creativity are part of who you are. Or you’re longing for it to be a bigger part of you. So let me just say “Welcome”. You’ve landed in exactly the right place.
Whether you are a practicing artist or just thinking about it, it’s all about expressing yourself. You’ve got something longing to be seen. So first, let’s agree that each of us expresses ourselves differently and put that inner critic to rest right now, shall we?
After all, you don’t compare your signature to someone else’s, do you? Here’s why I ask that question.
When you first learned to sign your name, you had to be taught the technical skills and gain skill using the tools through practice. It took awhile but eventually you learned to write and now your signature is unique, clearly identifiable as yours.
It’s the same way with painting. I can help you learn about the tools you need and practice your skills so you can express yourself through your art.
I’m an artist, teacher and creative life coach living by the Bay of Fundy in Nova Scotia. My studio looks out over the Bay because water and sky make my muse happy and keep her productive. Around these parts, things are constantly changing with the tides and weather which feeds my creative curiosity.
I also love inviting other artists and artist-dreamers to share the sacred space I call “My Studio”. Lots of good energy and vibes inside those 4 walls. You’ll find plenty of encouragement, help and no judgment. Not to mention a sense of community and fun.
“Just wanted to say thanks again for the workshop. You are a great teacher and cheer leader! In particular, I appreciated your tip to just work on one part of the canvas if you don’t paint as quickly as others – it took the pressure off me to speed up.” – M. Corston
“What a great workshop! The small group size allows for personal attention from Aprille as she teaches and also for group members to support and encourage each other. Aprille has an open, non judgmental approach to teaching while giving clear information and personal direction. Her studio is warm and inviting and the time spent there is a pleasure. I look forward to another opportunity to work with Aprille.” — Kezia B.
Visit my contact page and get in touch. I answer you myself. Yup. No go-between. Just a friendly chat between two people who love creativity.
While you’re here and thinking about it, why not join me and a lot of other creative folk just like you in The Creative Fire Café over on Facebook. We’d love to meet you there. (Did I mention I’m big on community?)
“I took the Rock Your World workshop with Aprille and was very happy with how my painting ‘blossomed before my very eyes’. Last week, I took her workshop again and painted a much larger canvas of 15″× 22″. Once again with Aprille’s perfectly timed instructions, my painting ‘came to life’!! She’s an excellent instructor.” — Wanda F.
