The wild roses and Rose of Sharon bush in my yard are always humming during the summer months. Whenever I pass by, I take a moment to watch the bees enthusiastically dive headfirst into the blossoms, seeking the sweetness at the heart of the flower.
These days, bees are struggling to survive, something I never would have imagined when I was a kid. I painted this particular image to draw attention to the plight of the bees. If the bees disappear, we won’t be far behind.
