Description
Everyone loves the varied colours and shapes of the stones on the Margaretsville beaches. Did you know they also make a great subject for those just starting out in watercolours and are a lot of fun for the more experienced painter?
In fact, this is a “no excuses” class because you don’t need to know how to draw. There’s not one proverbial straight line to worry about.
Over the course of the day you will learn:
- Basic colour theory (so you don’t have to buy every paint colour on the shelf)
- How to create the illusion of shape and depth
- Exciting yet simple watercolour effects
“Just wanted to say thanks again for the workshop. You are a great teacher and cheer leader! In particular, I appreciated your tip to just work on one part of the canvas if you don’t paint as quickly as others – it took the pressure off me to speed up.”

I took the Rock Your World workshop in April 2018 with Aprille and was very happy with how my painting ‘blossomed before my very eyes’. Last week, I took her Rock Your World workshop again and painted a much larger canvas of 15″× 22″. Once again with Aprilles perfectly timed instructions, my painting ‘came to life’!! She’s an excellent instructor and everyone will enjoy this workshop.

Fabulous. I learned not only about watercolour painting but did it. Aprille is extremely talented and knowledgeable. I am looking forward to my next class

I loved this workshop! Easy, clear instructions and Aprille is a wonderful teacher. I have a beautiful watercolour that I can frame( or maybe I will take the workshop on mounting it on a board ). I would recommend this workshop to anyone beginner to more experienced. It was a fun day.

My family was in Margaretsville on vacation in August when we learned of Aprille’s class. Because there were 4 of us who were interested, Aprille graciously offered to schedule a class for us. We are of various degrees of experience with watercolors, myself being the least knowledgeable. We all left that afternoon with a painting to be proud of. Aprille made it so easy with step by step instructions, but still left room for my own experimentation. I would highly recommend this class for any skill level. Oh, and you can’t beat the view from her studio window.?
